intheglowhealth. When my doctor told me back in 2012 that he was detecting Candida albi

When my doctor told me back in 2012 that he was detecting Candida albicans in my blood test, I started treating Candida like the villain behind all my digestive issues. I went on Candida cleansing protocols, started cutting out all sugars from my diet (even fruit), and bought countless supplements to kill off the nasty little intruder. It was hard for me to believe that years later, Candida was still showing up in my tests. What was I doing wrong? Well, here’s the thing: Candida is actually not the root cause to digestive issues. Candida is naturally occurring in our bodies, and is there helping us to keep a clean house. It feeds off the same foods as bad bacteria and viruses, and is actually trying to protect us from them. Therefor when our bodies are too overloaded with waste material and toxins, Candida has to eat so much, that it grows out of proportion. A bit over a year ago, I came across Medical Medium, and I started learning about the Epstein Barr virus. I understood that this virus together with buildup of heavy metals and strep bacteria are the reasons to why Candida stays overpopulated in the body. You see, Epstein Barr and Strep feed off heavy metals, and in return they create toxic byproduct. The Candida tries to deal with this toxic byproduct the best it can, and therefor grows in population. So as you now can imagine, killing off the Candida is not the solution, nor is it beneficial. What we actually want to do is rid the body off the heavy metals that are the feeding ground to the bad bacteria and viruses, so that we then can cleanse the bacteria and viruses out as well. By doing so, Candida will naturally minimize in population. So remember, Candida is not the villain of your digestive issues. It is just a friendly messenger, letting you know that something else is out of balance.

Happy happy Sunday my friends!🤗 Made some cozy paleo pumpkin “porridge” this morning and it was perfect!😋 * I let myself sleep in today...AND yesterday. Who is she?! I find myself viewing sleep as a chore and not prioritizing it. “Go to bed early when I could be doing something else?! Silly.” “Sleeping in when the early morning is my favorite and most productive time of day?! Silly.” However, what actually is silly is not letting our bodies recharge and get the rest they so rightfully deserve! I know sometimes it’s quite nearly impossible to make time for it in our busy schedules BUT taking the opportunity when we have it is always worth it! Some seasons in our lives we may need more; sleep is crucial when fighting things and also when your body is trying to HEAL. I may need more sleep during this season of my life than others and I’m learning to be OKAY with that. I’m learning to accept where I am now and know that this is exactly where I’m supposed to be. Anyways, just rambling on about sleep because I’m realizing how most of us don’t give it the priority it deserves and how much better I feel after getting some quality sleep.😴 Cheers to acceptance and being grateful for that extra sleep when we can get it!💛 * #dEATS: Paleo pumpkin porridge (Pumpkin, banana, tigernut flour, coconut milk, shredded coconut , hemp seeds, vanilla and pumpkin pie spice) topped with blueberries and coconut flakes🤪 * #autoimmunepaleo #tummyfriendly #sundaybreakfast #paleomeals #paleolifestyle #grainfreediet #glutenfreedairyfree #paleobreakfast #ibdawareness #ibsdiet #chronicpain #arthritisdiet #rheumatoidarthritis #autoimmuneprotocol #autoimmunewellness #aiprecipes #paleomeals #sibo #autoimmunedisease #whole30breakfast #healingfoods #paleofoods #wellnesswarrior #pumpkinporridge #aippaleo #autoimmunehealing #porridgebowl #morninginspiration #positiveaffirmations

pumpkin chocolate chip cookies: when I was a teenager my mom @lindamariebunt would get together with her friends and do a huge Christmas cookie exchange 🤲 a few women, sharing their family recipes and stories, producing delicious treats in the same kitchen 🌈 . Those rebellious middle years usually left me annoyed with it all. My mom MADE me do things (always heard "someday you'll understand and appreciate why I'm making you"). I HAD to participate 🙊🙈 little did I know that one of the times was HUGE for me understanding what could happen when an artist approached baking as a medium One of her friends had a penchant for combining traditional recipes with different ingredients to create something new. This woman said it mostly happened from making mistakes and trying to fix them. I believe that... but she was a really interesting architect whose house was the most detailed project I had ever seen. Her hands, heart, and mind where on full display in the design of her home. She showed me that a life and space can be crafted to really reflect inner vision. She (and her husband) believed (and trusted) in her vision enough to create a home from the ground up. As a kid (and to be honest, even now!) is seemed that it was the most literal translation of having dreams come true. And for a 14-15-16 year old, who was starting to think about the bigger picture and where I might like to find myself, having her in my life was revolutionary. I remember walking into her office many times to look at her commissioned work. Architecture plans-- the blueprints, the graphs, the style of drawing-- seemed so foreign to me but I couldn't stop trying to understand the inner workings of it all. Anyway, getting back! During this one holiday bake sesh, she combined a chocolate chip cookie with a pumpkin cookie with maple frosting. It was legitmately unbelievable (totally not understood by the other bakers, maybe not appreciated either). It was the most delicious cookie I had ever eaten. The whole world opened up to me in that moment. How can one fucking baked good do that? The mind-expansiveness of it all 🤯❤🌈 well I recreated them today 🙌🙌 with a bit of reverence and rebellion

We are chocolate lovers at our house 🍫 I was surprised though to find "artificial flavors" in Hersheys chocolate chips and "natural flavors" in Nestle. The goal of these "flavors" is basically to make them addictive. And can they contain over 100 ingredients that they don't have to disclose. These ingredients often include MSG, BHA, BHT, propylene glycol, and polysorbate 80, all of which have links to health concerns. What is the difference between artificial flavors and natural flavors? Not much. Companies can put "natural flavors" on the ingredient when something starts out from something plant or animal based but usually contains many other ingredients such as solvents, flavor modifiers and preservatives that are not natural. According to the EWG, around 80-90% of what is in Natural Flavors are harmful chemicals. This article from the EWG is really interesting: https://www.ewg.org/foodscores/content/natural-vs-artificial-flavors So I'm very happy to find chocolate like the ones on the right because they have good ingredients! They are in my Amazon shop that you can find through the link in my bio @healthy.kids.living #simpleswitches #chocolatelover #nutritiousanddelicious #eatwell #wholefoodie #foodforfuel #healthylivingrevolution #nutritionmatters #healthyyou #wellnessgoals #cleanfoods #healthyfoodchoices #makechange #thriving #healthybodyhealthymind #healthybodyandmind #healingfoods #healthybodynutrition #healthconscious #realfoodheals #nutrientdense

Everyday my mind is getting clearer, my body getting cleaner, and my spirit growing stronger. I gave myself a day to grieve a cancer diagnosis and then I turned to massive action. The “how is this possible?” narrative was strong and can creep back in if I don’t crowd out those thoughts with feelings that empower me; gratitude, love, reverence. Right now, my priority is flooding my body with organic, raw ingredients from the Earth and gifting myself the space to cleanse physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Despite feeling like there were no outward problems before this situation unfolded, I am on a fact finding mission to discover what’s underneath so I can live an even more radiant life from this place forward. Whatever and wherever you are on a healing journey, I am right there with you. Props to every person showing up to do the hard, deep, challenging work. We got this 💪🏻

Baked purple sweet potatoes with salad: spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, cucumbers, and homemade oil-free hummus 🎇 I definitely prefer how I feel eating fully raw or at least high raw (90%). If I decide to enjoy some cooked foods in my salad for dinner I go towards steamed/baked veggies or pumpkin or squash, as these foods digest just as good as raw fruits and veg for me. Now the season is changed to cooler temps (and we don't have any central heating in our apartment, hello 15-18C inside 🥶), I have been incorporating all of my "8 Tips to Stay Warm in the Winter as a Raw Vegan" 👈 video on my YouTube channel 'The Vegan Solution'🎥 ...However I have been more inclined to have a few more cooked dinners during the week. Lately I naturally eat fully raw 2-3 days a week, and the rest of the days I eat raw until dinner, I enjoy some cooked veggies or pumpkin into my salad 🥗 it definitely helps warm me up! Can you relate?? 🤓
