Who knew it'd be so fun to take off my clothes on stage?!?! Here's a video of my one of my freestyle performances as a [mostly malfunctional and highly casual] android stripper in #FM8 Stripped! I love love loved the chance to dance in this show and loved being able to trust myself enough to freestyle both segments 3 nights in a row, even if I'm 90% pirouettes 😂❤ Thank you @aerials.fan.ottawa for the super cool opportunity, @kikaxchiquita for giving pole a try on stage as well (!!!) and to @strangevisitations for being a hella awesome director! It was super cool to be able to combine theatre and pole, and actually have lines, whattt??? I can't wait for more shows like this in the future! Also the audio crapped out on me so I guess overlaying the song on the muted audio works too LOL. I swear people were cheering at least a little 😂 Also huge thank you to @3sixtydanceandfitness for the stage pole!!! Increasing weight is a great way to build strength but it’s not the only way to overload your body. These 4 variations add great challenges to your movements especially in cases where you have limited access to equipment. Muscle grows when put under different types of stress. All 4 of these variations stimulates your muscles differently. • Pause Rep: You’re required to isometrically contract your muscle and hold the weight at the bottom of the movement. Not only that it adds time under tension for each rep, but pausing requires you to activate muscle groups that aren’t normally used during the eccentric and concentric phase. • 1 ¼ Rep: the ¼ rep adds volume to your set and increases the time required to complete a set. • Slow down the eccentric: Eccentric contraction deals the most stress to your muscles. Prepare to be really sore the next day if you decide to add this variation to your workout. Most people tend to rush through the eccentric motion because it’s simply an unpleasant feeling but this is important for muscle hypertrophy. • Constant Tension: Not locking out at the end of a movement makes the exercise a lot harder and requires your muscles to continuously work throughout the whole set. • Don’t increase weight just to increase weight. Try out these variations. It not only allows you to make a movement harder when limited in equipment. It allows you to control, and own the weight. Build a better mind muscle connection.
