Run Streak Day 24! I worked this morning, went to lunch with my best friend, then spent the evening with my sister and nephew. I brought my running shoes so that no matter what I'd run my mile when I got home. It started to pour while I was at my sister's so I waited for a break in the rain and went to the gym to get it done. I went slow and steady since i didn't have a proper sports bra or my waist band but I felt amazing. I wanted to get a couple more miles but I was racing against time so 1 mile for today it is. I have one more #transformationtuesday for y’all and this one is a video edition. On the left was in March at the beginning and I lost around 40 pounds at that time. On the right was yesterday now down 131 pounds. . I get asked How? How did you lose that much weight that fast? . So the 3 most important things I have done was change my mindset, Believe in myself and LOVE myself enough to do this. I loved myself even before this journey but my weight was making me miserable. Along with these top 3 tips of mine then comes nutrition and working out. . I have done a complete lifestyle change so i went from eating 3,000-5,000 calories a day to 1,800 in the beginning and now 1,500 a day. This way I know I’m in a calorie deficit. I focus on low carbs/low fat, Whole Foods, lean protein and veggies. Very little fruit but I will eat berries. I have cut sugars out especially sodas and any drinks because they are empty calories. I no longer do heavy processed foods or fast food so that was my weakness. . I went from a sofa binge watching Netflix and Hulu to no binge watching and working out 5-6x a week. What type of workouts do you do? I do Bootcamp with @springfbbc @fitbodybootcampofficial where sessions are 30 minutes and you work all the muscle parts with HITT thrown in there which this creates an afterburn effect so you can burn calories even when you rest. . This cart that I’m on is amazing and my gym owner @keithgoldenholden created it which creates a Push and Pull effect so you are working upper and lower body along with core since you are bent over then it’s mobile so you can get cardio. Not only that but you can get a really good lower body workout and I added my resistance band to my thighs and oh boy does it give you even more of a workout. What’s awesome these can go with you anywhere. I will share a video soon of my Warrior Glutes/Lower Body Workout that really gives me a good sweat 💦 . Also what’s important is being consistent, dedicated to nutrition and working out, discipline and dedication they will take you a long ways. I told myself 2019 is my year of focusing on me so I had to eliminate things that were distracting me and one major ones was dating.

The obvious answer isn’t always the easiest road to travel. There’s fun to that in the sense that we get to challenge ourselves. On the flip side we’re not always ready to make the changes, we have people in our ear telling us what they think we should do. We have the comparison of others right here online putting little shreds of doubt in our minds that we’re not good enough or we’re not progressing fast enough. I’m constantly asked how I lost 100lbs, followed by how fast did I lose it. The answer is not as simple as you might think. The reality is everyone is different and their bodies will change at their own speed. Once you set your mind straight and get your expectations set accordingly then comes time to put a plan in place. A realistic, achievable plan that in theory you can stick to. You’ll understand that life will come at you from all angles and you will deviate from said plan from time to time and readjust back into it while you get things in your life together and that is ok because you’re slowly changing habits here and “old you” would have reacted way differently than “present day you” will. You are ready for any and all challenges. You believe so strongly that in fact you can make things happen. When you realize all of this, you begin practicing the 4 pillars: Patience, consistency, hard work, and self love. From this point on you can take on anything in front of you. You no longer fear the unknown. You’ll get a little nervous, you’ll get a little antsy but you’ll be ready to face it full on! Everyday won’t be a W but you’ll have more wins than losses because everyday you get a little stronger mentally and physically. So get out there and make things happen!! Today has been ROUGH! I got off track by eating pretty close to my actual body weight in Triscuits. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ So, I’m making this post to distract myself from the rest of the now endangered carbs in my house. I’m a binge eater and that will always be the case. There is always going to be a struggle, most of the time I’m good at telling myself “no” and sticking with that. However, I am still human. Today is a day that I stumbled and ate too much. The difference between the girl on the left and the girl on the right: The girl on the left would let this throw her off, she would continue the binge until I was sick or there was literally nothing left in my house. The girl on the right realized what she was doing (after finishing the box 😳😬) the girl on the right won’t let that phase her, she’s going to get right back on track, refocus herself, and try again. . . First of all, I love Renaissance Festivals. They are my absolute favorite. Second of all, I’m so much smaller than I was in 2010..........9 years ago. NINE. I was going to use this outfit for an upcoming Renaissance festive I am going to be going to.....but dang....I can’t 😂😂😂😂. Not without some alterations at the least 😂😂😂😂😂. I don’t even recognize myself. My side by side pictures look like completely different people. CRAZY!!! I can’t even tell you the pound difference between these pictures. 100? Maybe only 80? No clue. But the proof is in the pudding! Speaking of pudding. A couple months ago I took a taste of some pudding, HATED it. My taste buds have changed. Overly sweet things taste terrible anymore (except for ice cream.......ice cream will always be amazing, but only in moderation and only if it’s Halo Top or Enlightened......or churn and burn...) BUT ANYWHO. CONSISTENCY....and never giving up, even if you have to take a break sometimes. Just make sure you GET BACK on the grind. I think that’s why I keep my Instagram going even if I only post every few weeks. Because I’ve got some amazing women on here that truly make it worth it to keep my page going. I don’t care if I ever get insta-famous. The fact that my journey is documented on here, to prove that I’m making what I thought was impossible happen. Hence my account name. THE AFTERMATH OF LOSING HALF MY BODY WEIGHT! Alot of people don't realize all the changes that come with losing such a large amount of weight. . . 1. I lost my hair. This was real hard for my to cope with because I used to have such thick hair growing up. It's slowly starting to fill in, but it's been tough for me to deal with. I don't think it will ever fully grow back. . . 2. I'm always COLD. I literally cannot leave my house without a sweater regardless of the season. This has been tough for adapt to since my insulation used to keep me very HOT my entire life. . . 3. I lost friends and family along the way. Some people cant stand to see you succeed, others talk about you behind you back. Your relationships with people are bound to change with dramatic weight loss, but don't let others negativity hold you back. . . 4. I have LOOSE skin!!! Although I can hide it majority of the time, once it's swimsuit season all bets are off. Embrace yourself regardless of your skin!! . . 5. I have stretch marks all over my body. I honestly think I have more stretched skin then regular skin. I have them in the weirdest places.. on my knees, stomach, back, arms, chest and on my shoulders 🙈🙈🙈 . . 6. My cravings for certain foods has changed dramatically. This has been difficult for my family to accept because they are used to me eating a certain way. It is an ongoing battle on what to make for dinner. . . 7. I experienced alot of sadness throughout this journey. It was hard to always be the positive person I am today. And sometimes I'm still hard on myself, but depression is very common during a weight loss journey. There are things you can do... Try to can change how you think, and it will change how you feel. You know what feels even better than fitting into jeans and getting slimmer?! It’s getting stronger!!! My desire isn’t to to be skinny,it’s to be strong. Strong enough to do pull-ups, lift heavy shit at the gym,and whoop someone’s ass if I needed to type strong. It just feels satisfying when my body can finally do something it wasn’t able to before. Like this here shoulder press. Last year I struggled to even lift 8 pounds. I mean that 8 lbs felt like a ton at the time.I can now lift 30 pounds. Honestly I can lift more, but please don’t tell my trainers that.lol They’ll just want to add more and more weight. So yeah.. getting strong is what excites me most about releasing this weight. Daily accountability weigh-in. I've been hovering at the same weight for a few days which I'm really not surprised about. Getting over being sick and now this week the pool is closed so my workout classes aren't happening and dont resume until next Tuesday. I thought about going to a different group excercise class but almost all of them are while I'm at work or they're too late for me. I had planned to do some videos at home for my workouts but that just doesn't work for me. Theres too much going on in my house and it's so easy to make excuses to not do it.
