Added 100g of it, raw and riced, to 30g Sainsbury’s jumbo oats, 30g Bulk Powders chocolate whey isolate 90, 1 tbsp Aduna raw cacao powder and 300ml water to make this JUMBO bowl of porridge (same volume 💯oats would have been crazy carbs and cals for me right now!) Topped it with 22g Pip & Nut crunchy PB and some Creative Nature hemp seeds. Came to 413 cals, 30.2g carbs, 15.9g fat, 39.4g protein. Planning to head to SHRED at the gym today, with any luck!! But really, I eat them bc they’re sooo delicious, convenient, and cheap! ❤️. We eat them almost every single day. ⠀ 🤔Did you ever wonder what happens as they change in color? If so, here you go! ⠀ green —> yellow —> brown as the 🍌ripens: ✅resistant starch content decreases ✅tastes sweeter - resistant starch turns into sugar ✅gets digested easier and quicker (causing a spike in the blood sugar) ✅some of the micronutrient levels decrease - happens with all produce to some degree once harvested ✅antioxidant levels increase ⠀ For babies and toddlers, really green #bananas may be too hard on their little tummies and can cause or make pre-existing constipation worse. ⠀ they are a great source of prebiotics though (check out my previous post). I purchase unripe banana and start offering it to Caleb when it is predominately yellow with a slight hint of green (as pictured). Yellow ones disappear ever so quickly around here, and the brown ones get used for baking 👍. ⠀ ⏰if you want to speed up the ripening process, place in a brown paper bag. if you want to slow it down then place in the refrigerator. Name some HEALTHY, convenient foods? 👇🏼 ➖ Lack of time has been shown to be the main barrier for people engaging in any training program and/or adopting “healthy” eating habits (Eyler et al 2002, Silliman et al 2004) as, unfortunately, both exercise and/or preparing nutrient dense foods does take a little bit of time. The result is thus people resorting to (a) Not training at all and/or (b) Eating a diet mostly consisting of convenience foods which, unfortunately, have shown to be associated with a higher energy intake, poorer dietary quality & higher obesity prevalence (Costa Louzada et al 2015, Louzada et al 2015). Result? You gain weight FAST & resort to blaming your “busy” schedule for your inability to lose weight and/or eating healthily however this can soon be fixed. How? Stop complaining and being a 21st Century “snowflake” (sorry if this offends anyone)! ➖ Exercise: When it comes to exercise, HIIT has shown to be an extremely time efficient method of training that produces similar fitness/mitochondrial adaptations & fat loss results to LISS in as little as 4-15mins (Little 2010, Burgomaster et al 2008, Tremblay et al 1994, Burgomaster et al 2005, Perry et al 2007). EVERYBODY, no matter how “busy” their schedule may be, has 15mins to spare to go outside/to the gym to go balls to the wall ➖ Diet: Similarly, when it comes to diet, just like there are many convenient JUNK foods out there, if you actually looked a little closer in the grocery store, you would soon realise how much availability there is within the convenient HEALTHY food market as well. Frozen fruits/veggies, pre-cooked meats, low fat Greek yogurts, jerky, microwavable rice, bars, wraps etc ➖ Unfortunately there is really no sugar coating it, in a world that is now ruled by convenience, there is no reason not to be able to eat healthy(er) or to be complaining about not having time to cook “healthy” foods & while you could argue that the pictured foods are still to a degree, processed when compared to their RAW alternatives, they are still going to contain a SIGNIFICANTLY superior energy/micronutrient profile than a typical processed ready to eat meal that you would pick up at the gas st
