Here is my take on the #mondayblues @tula Cream Cleanser - I actually haven't tried this cleanser yet as I already have so many in rotation but am really excited to test it eventually. It's my first product from this brand and I heard so many lovely things about them. @koparibeauty Deodorant - I love how easily this natural deodorant glides on and the scent is so nice. It works well or me on "regular" days but I do need something a tad stronger when I go to the gym. @bliss Eye Do All Things* - This is a lovely eye cream. I'm especially excited about the applicator which is very cooling and slightly massaging at the same time. @firstaidbeauty Ultra Repair HA Primer* - I really adore this one. I'm normally not a person who uses primers on an every day basis (because I don't put on foundation daily) but this made me change my mind. It is just so hydrating and I love the matte finish it delivers, that I use it every day. @vivaiodays No Tears Wash & Shampoo - Another newbie that I got for my 3 year old. I haven't tried it yet but love other products from this brand and since my little guy hates washing his hair because he got soap in his eyes once, I thought I would give this one a try! @thenimetyou Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel* - You heard me rave about this before, so I'll keep it short - love this cleansing gel! . *kindly gifted but opinions are mine
Joining @growintoyourglow and @my.beautyinsideout with their #skinfavoriteschallenge I have a couple of favorite cleansers and the ones pictured here are high on the list. @lani_hair the Blue Mint* cleansing powder is great for everyday use. It is so mild but gets rid off all impurities. It also has a refreshing mint scent. @farmacybeauty the Very Cherry Clean* is an amazing balm for a first cleanse. It easily melts away make-up and sunscreen and deliciously smells of Cherry and almonds. @thenimetyou this Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel* is the perfect second cleanser. It delivers a deep cleanse while being gentle to the skin. I also really love their cleansing balm but am already out of it, so I couldn't picture it here. . *items kindly gifted but opinions are mine
#AD On this #pinkwednesday, I want to share with you my thoughts on @saturday_skin, K-beauty brand I've been testing out recently, especially because the Sephora VIB sale is happening right now where insiders can take up to 20% off! Saturday Skin's products are sulfate free, synthetic fragrance free, vegan and cruelty free. Some do contain silicone and essential oils. Overall, I have been pretty impressed with this brand; their products are hydration forward and most have the same amazing gel texture that works so well for my combo skin. A lot of them also feature an array of probiotics and prebiotics to nourish the skin. Wide Awake - this eye cream claims to brighten up the under-eye area and is packed with peptides and date seed extract. Even though I haven't quite used it long enough to speak to the long-term brightening effect, I love the gel texture and the slight cooling effect it provides. It also pairs well with my concealer. Waterfall Glacier Water Cream is a lovely, lightweight moisturizer that provides a punch of hydration and has been nourishing enough for my skin even in the cooler fall weeks. It absorbs quickly and plays nicely with the other products in my routine. For the even cooler winter months, I might switch over to their Featherweight Daily Moisturizing Cream, which is a tad creamier in texture and contains Avocado protein to strengthen the skin barrier. The surprise act for me is their Rub-a-dub Refining Peel Gel. This weekly treatment is applied post cleanse and really left my skin super smooth after just one use. It is a physical and chemical exfoliant but the beads are super soft and non abrasive. It does have alcohol on the ingredient list but my combo skin doesn't find it drying at all. The Cotton Cloud Probiotic Power Mask is a lovely sheet mask that contains one of my all-time favorite ingredients, Niacinamide, and is also packed with probiotics. It left my skin feeling super soft and had a lot of extra essence as well that I rubbed on my elbows. Like all sheet masks, the fit for me was a little big but I just happen to have a small head 😉 and I was impressed by the quality of the “sheet." - continued in comments-
★★★★☆ The @weleda Skin Food Body butter is a nourishing body cream. It is sulfate free, silicone free, synthetic fragrance free and cruelty free. It claims to be hydrating and nourishing and contains Sunflower Seed Oil, Cocoa Seed Butter as well as Shea Butter among others. But alcohol, natural fragrance, Linalool and Geraniol are also on the list (as the last few ingredients). The butter is definitely very nourishing - in fact I find the term "butter" super fitting for this product as the texture is really thick and dense. It leaves my skin hydrated but overall it takes a little too long for my taste to absorb. I love a lot of Weleda products and this one is quite good as well but I'm just a little too impatient for the absorption time, so no repurchase on me for this one.
Happy #shelfiesunday and #minimonday together with a #minishelfie 😉 The minis pictured here are only a fraction of my collection! I was thinking I might gift an advent calendar or two this year... Any other thoughts? How are you all utilizing your minis (other than hoarding and bringing your favorite 5 on a week trip 😉)? . Some items gifted
An outtake of the kindly gifted @pixibeauty #pixipretties I have started to play around with these a little but still have a lot of testing to do. So far I like applying the Endless Shade Stick - it’s so easy to do and can be adjusted effortlessly. It is a tad too glittery for my personal taste but love the concept! . Kindly gifted but opinions are mine
★★★★★ I have yet to try a @kosascosmetics product that I didn't immediately love and the kindly gifted lipsticks are no exception. They are sulfate free, silicone free, free of synthetic fragrance and cruelty free but of course contain some dyes. They are also made with a bunch of hydrating ingredients such as Cocoa Seed Butter, Grapeseed Oil, Shea Butter and Rosehip Seed Oil. I'm a little bit of a klotz when it comes to make-up application and I just love how forgiving most of the Kosas products are. The lipsticks are so easy to apply and really are moisturizing. I got the shades Rosewater and Undone which are both more neutral tones. Rosewater mainly just intensifies my natural lip color whereas Undone is slightly more noticeable and give a nice hint of color. They last pretty well too but are also easily reapplied since they are so "mess-free". I would definitely repurchase these and am already thinking about testing out different shades since Kosas also offers free shipping within the US 😉 . *kindly gifted but opinions are mine
Happy #yttptuesday 💛 As you can see I'm a big fan of @youthtothepeople - most of their products work really well on my skin and the two most recent releases (the mist and toner) have quickly become staples in my routine. Also, kind of embarrassed to admit, that this is not the entire gang (I still have some other minis that are packed away in my travel bag 🙈). . *some items gifted but opinions are mine
I was asked to do a post about lip balms and while it wasn't an easy decision, here are my top 3 (in no particular order). They all were kindly gifted but I would happily repurchase all of them with my own money. There is also a special mention for a balm with SPF, purchased by me. @raw.natural Heal Stick* I reviewed this one before and it has a special place in my heart because it was one of the few things I could put on my lips when they were very irritated. It always feels so soothing and nourishing. It is all natural, silicone-free, sulfate-free, cruelty-free and organic but does contain a small amount of Lavender Essential Oil (last ingredient). @farmacybeauty Honey Butter* is pretty much my go-to lip balm. I have one in my purse, one on my nightstand and one on my desk. It is very nourishing and all natural, silicone-free, sulfate-free and cruelty-free but does contain small amounts of natural fragrance such as Lemon Peel Oil and also Linalool. @kosascosmetics Baseline Clear Hyaluronic Lip Balm* this is still newer to my collection but I find myself reaching for it a lot. It is sulfate free, silicone free, free of synthetic fragrance and cruelty free but does contain Lanolin and Rosemary Leaf Extract. It has a minty scent to it and is super hydrating. @supergoop AcaiFusion Lip Balm Broad Spectrum SPF 30. If this didn't have the SPF, it probably wouldn't have made this list. It's a little too glossy and not balmy enough for my taste but I love that it delivers sun protection and that it is sulfate free and cruelty free. It does however contain flavor and since it is a chemical sunscreen it also contains Avobenzone 3%, Octinoxate, 7.5%, and Octisalate 5%. . *kindly gifted but opinions are mine
★★★★★ The kindly gifted @jkosmmune_cosmetics Luminous Skin Defense moisturizer* is a particularly hydrating one. It is #sulfatefree #fragrancefree #siliconefree #vegan #crueltyfree and all ingredients have a 1 or 2 EWG rating. It claims to moisturize and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Like all of their products, this moisturizer contains the very hydrating mBeta Glucan as well as Centella Asiatica and Aloe Leaf extract among others. It has a very lightweight, gel-like texture which is why I prefer to use it in the mornings. It absorbs quickly and layers well with the other products in my routine. And while the moisturizer really is very hydrating, I think if you have extremely dry skin, you might add another layer on top to seal this hydration in. With my combo skin in the summer time, I didn't need to but I might use the moisturizer more like a serum in the cooler months and add an oil on top. I can definitely see myself repurchasing this one. . *kindly gifted but opinions are mine
Really can't wait to try out these kindly gifted @versed products. I'm already in love with that fact that they are sulfate free, fragrance free, silicone free, dye free, vegan and cruelty free and also their adorable packaging - swipe for some cute box notes 😉 Hope you are having a lovely Wednesday!
Ok, so quite honestly this impulse buy was probably not the wisest... I go through a lot of body lotions and when I needed to reach a certain Sephora amount to make a reward, I added the @ouai body creme since I was mesmerized by the texture and also know that it is a cruelty free brand. However, now that I'm sitting down for this post, I noticed a lot of ingredients that I usually try to avoid such as fragrance, Citral and Citronellol, Linalool and different dyes. Granted, these are all at the very bottom of the ingredient list, but still... The creme also contains silicone and Coconut oil; some of the better ingredients include Squalane and Shea Butter. I haven't actually used the lotion yet but as you can see, the texture does look amazing but the scent is also a tad too heavy for me. Based on the ingredients alone, I probably won't repurchase but happy to update anyone on moisturizing effects and absorption etc. after my first use.
Happy #minimonday 💕 This is a #sephorafavorites kit that I just couldn't resist. It has some products I already know and like (such as the @farmacybeauty Honeymoon Glow and the @youthtothepeople Dream Mask) as well as newbies that I have been curious about (@indie_lee toner and the @herbivorebotanicals Emerald). And of course after shooting this #flatlay I noticed that the primera lip mask had rolled away - so you can see that if you swipe 🙈
★★★★★ I'm kind of in love with the kindly gifted @kosascosmetics Baseline Clear Hyaluronic Lip Balm* It is sulfate free, silicone free, free of synthetic fragrance and cruelty free. It contains an impressive amount of oils such as Castor, Avocado, Camellia Seed, Grape Seed and Mango Seed oil as well as Shea and Cocoa Seed butter. It also includes one of my favorite ingredients, the hydrating Hyaluronic Acid. For the sensitive ones among you, it also does contain Lanolin and Beeswax as well as Rosemary Leaf Extract. It claims to hydrate lips and seal in moisture. The balm has a refreshing minty flavor to it and glides on nicely. It really is super hydrating and has become one of my favorite balms. I might just have to purchase some of the tinted ones as well, such as the "Rush" one 😉 *kindly gifted but opinions are mine
★★★★☆ The kindly gifted @starface Hydro-Star pimple patches* are the cutest around. The hydrocolloid patches are vegan and cruelty free and claim to remove liquid and prevent outside bacteria from getting in. I'm a big fan of the yellow stars as I feel that no matter how thin and see-through pimple patches are, they are still visible, so you might as well embrace that fact. The patches adhere pretty well if you manage to not bend the jags. They are supposed to be applied to clean and dry skin and left on for at least 6 hours (I wore mine overnight). They only work on pimples that show puss or liquid and did a fairly good job on my white head. Overall I tried different patches that were a tad more powerful, but none of them comes in form of yellow stars or that adorable packaging that even features a mirror - so the choice is yours :) . *kindly gifted but opinions are mine
